Warren D. Ruff Scholarship
Funded by: Warren D. Ruff Scholarship Fund ($6.4M endowment)
The largest scholarship program in the Sun Health Foundation portfolio, funded by a $6.4 million endowment. Awards cover tuition, books, technology, and required program materials. Priority given to nurses and nursing candidates employed by Sun Health, Banner Boswell, and Banner Del E. Webb medical centers. Two application cycles per year (Fall and Spring) through Common Grant.
Eligibility
- Priority: employees of Sun Health, Banner Boswell, or Banner Del Webb
- Enrolled in an accredited nursing program (LPN, CNA, ADN, BSN, MSN, or DNP)
- In good standing with current employer and academic program
- Must complete video interview submission with application

Shepherd of the Hills United Methodist Church Scholarship
Funded by: Shepherd of the Hills United Methodist Church ($40,000/year)
Funded by the Shepherd of the Hills United Methodist Church congregation at $40,000 per year. Available for Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer semesters. Applicants with remaining tuition balances are selected and funding is distributed evenly. Applications run in tandem with the Warren D. Ruff Scholarship timeline through Common Grant.

- Pursuing a BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) degree
- Demonstrating financial need (remaining tuition balance)

A personal commitment directed to Banner Boswell employees pursuing their BSN degree. Approximately $290,000 has accrued in this fund for nursing students working at Boswell Hospital. This scholarship reflects a deep personal investment in the professional development of the Banner Boswell nursing team.

Grandview Terrace Community Scholarship
Funded by: Grandview Terrace Residents
Funded by the generosity of Grandview Terrace residents. Open to a wide range of educational programs including GED, ESL, citizenship preparation, vocational training, and accredited degree programs from associate through bachelor level. Employees must have at least 6 months of employment and work a minimum of 12 hours per week.

- Current Grandview Terrace employee (Corporate/Admin not eligible)
- Minimum 6 months of employment, working at least 12 hours per week
- In good standing with no disciplinary action in preceding 6 months
- Enrolled in GED, ESL, vocational, or accredited degree program

Funded by La Loma Village residents. Covers GED, ESL, citizenship preparation, vocational training, and accredited degree programs. Employees must work at least 20 hours per week. The program emphasizes connection between donors and recipients, with scholars encouraged to share their educational journey with donors.

- Current La Loma Village employee (Corporate/Admin not eligible)
- Minimum 6 months of employment, working at least 20 hours per week
- In good standing with no disciplinary action in preceding 6 months
- Pursuing GED, ESL, vocational, or accredited degree program

The Colonnade Resident Scholarship

Resident-sponsored scholarship program for employees at The Colonnade. Supports a wide range of educational programs including GED, ESL, citizenship preparation, vocational training, and accredited degrees. The largest community-level program by total dollars awarded.

- Current Colonnade employee (Corporate/Admin not eligible)
- Minimum 6 months of employment, working at least 15 hours per week
- In good standing with no disciplinary action in preceding 6 months
- Pursuing GED, ESL, vocational, or accredited degree program

Sun Health Foundation Scholarship

A new scholarship initiative being developed by the Sun Health Foundation Scholarship Oversight Committee. This program will be directed to nursing and healthcare-related students at local colleges and universities such as Estrella Community College. The goal is to expand visibility and create opportunities for the next generation of healthcare professionals.

- Enrolled in nursing or healthcare program at a local college or university
- Criteria to be finalized by Scholarship Oversight Committee
- Focus on Estrella Community College and similar local institutions
